UFC OTTAWA ANNOUNCED WITH SEVERAL BOUTS INCLUDING DEREK BRUNSON VS. ELIAS THEODOROU

This week, UFC Fight Night 150 was officially announced and the occasion will occur May 4 at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Along with declaring the card, a number of bouts are shown, and here they are under along with my initial thoughts on these.
Derek Brunson vs. Elias Theodorou, UFC Fight Night 150
The most crucial fight announced for this card thus much is a middleweight bout between top-15 fighters Derek Brunson and Elias Theodorou. Brunson (18-7) is 9-5 from the UFC and is coming from back-to-back KO declines to Israel Adesanya and Ronaldo”Jacare” Souza. Theodorou (16-2) is 8-2 in the UFC and has won his last three fights such as a determination win over Eryk Anders in his final outing. Brunson has the power and wrestling but Theodorou has the chin and cardio. Tough one to call but I would have to favor Theodorou at this point.
Arjan Bhullar vs. Juan Adams, UFC Fight Night 150
A pleasure heavyweight bout sees Arjan Bhullar take on Juan Adams. Bhullar (8-1) is 2-1 in the UFC and won a decision over Marcelo Golm his last struggle. Adams (5-0) has won five of his pro fights by TKO including a knockout over Chris de la Rocha in his UFC debut. Though Bhullar has solid wrestling, I believe Adams is a top notch prospect and would make him a big favorite here.
Sarah Moras vs. Leah Letson, UFC Fight Night 150
Women’s bantamweight Sarah Moras will take on Leah Letson. Moras (5-4) is 2-3 in the UFC and has lost her last two conflicts. Letson (5-1) is on a five-fight win series including a success in her UFC debut. Moras is fade material and I would greatly favor Letson to get the win here.
Brad Katona vs. Merab Dvalishvili, UFC Fight Night 150
Bantamweight prospect Brad Katona will find a step up when he takes on Merab Dvalishvili. Katona (8-0) is 2-0 in the UFC and just dominated Matthew Lopez in his last fight after winning TUF. Dvalishvili (8-4) is 1-2 in the UFC and is coming off of a decision win over Terrion Ware in his final struggle. Katona is an excellent prospect and Dvalishvili is an excellent test for him at the stage of his career. It’s a tough one to call but given the reality Katona is still undefeated, not to mention Canadian, I think you have to prefer him here.
Mitch Gagnon vs. Brian Kelleher, UFC Fight Night 150
Bantamweights in desperate need of wins will fulfill as Mitch Gagnon takes on Brian Kelleher. Gagnon (12-4) is 4-3 in the UFC and is coming from consecutive losses. Kelleher (19-10) is 3-3 in the UFC and has also lost his last two fights. Both men are fade cloth but awarded Gagnon’s extended layoff you would have to slightly favor Kelleher within this one.
Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Andrew Sanchez, UFC Fight Night 150
Former TKO middleweight champion Marc-Andre Barriault will take on Andrew Sanchez in his UFC debut. Barriault (11-1) is coming from eight wins in a row in TKO and is among Canada’s greatest MMA prospects. Sanchez (10-4) is 3-2 in the UFC and conquered Markus Perez by choice in his final struggle. Sanchez is a good fighter but I think Barriault is going to be really good and I would certainly prefer him to get the win here in the capital of Canada.
Aiemann Zahabi vs. Vince Morales, UFC Fight Night 150
And lastly, bantamweights Aiemann Zahabi and Vince Morales will struggle. Zahabi (7-1) is 1-1 at the UFC and lost to Ricardo Ramos through KO in his final fight. Morales (8-3) lost his UFC introduction to Yadong Song. This one could go either but I would favor Zahabi just because of the fact he will be fighting so near home.
